During The Asia Cup Of 2023, India Defeated Pakistan By 228 Runs

(CTN News) – On Monday, the Indian team defeated Pakistan by 228 runs in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match played in Colombo.

This is the biggest win India has ever had against Pakistan by runs in an ODI. Meanwhile, it was Pakistan’s third heaviest defeat in ODIs against any team in their history.

A target of 357 runs was set for Pakistan, who were restricted to 128-8 in 32 overs after Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf did not come out to bat due to injuries.

Among all the bowlers for India, Asia Cup Kuldeep Yadav was the most impressive bowler with figures of 5-25 in eight overs.

There was a disappointing batting performance by Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman as he scored 27 runs in 50 balls in a bad batting display.

Both Agha Salman and Iftikhar Ahmed scored 23 runs each in the match.

To win the match for Pakistan, Azam, Pakistan’s star batter and captain, scored 10 runs in 24 balls before he was bowled by a beautiful delivery from Hardik Pandya.

Earlier this week, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul both scored centuries as India set Pakistan an impossible target of 357 runs during the Asia Cup 2023 in Colombo.

During the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, play in the Pakistan-India match was delayed due to rain. As soon as the players took the field, India dominated the proceedings.

In their allotted 50 overs, India finished on 356-2 while Pakistan remained wicketless.

With nine fours and three sixes, Kohli scored 122 runs in 94 balls.

Rahul, meanwhile, scored 111 runs in 106 balls, including 14 boundaries.

According to reports earlier today, Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf has been ruled out of the India-Pakistan match as a precaution. In the innings, he bowled only five overs.

Haris Rauf will not continue bowling in the Asia Cup Super 4 match against India as a precautionary measure. He felt some discomfort in his right flank during yesterday’s match, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced.

An MRI was performed as a precaution, which revealed that there was no tear in the ligament. It was added that he was being observed by the medical panel of the team.

There was persistent rain yesterday, which led to the cancellation of the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match.

The toss was won by Pakistan, and the team chose to bowl first against India.

On Sunday, India were 147/2 after 24.1 overs when the match was stopped due to rain. As a result of the playing conditions, the game continued from this point on the reserve day with no overs being lost.
