Blade Runner 2099: Ridley Scott to Release Sequel TV Series to Amazon
The Blade Runner franchise is returning to Ridley Scott with a new series from Amazon Studios titled Blade Runner 2099. Denis Villeneuve directed Blade Runner 2049, which is reported to be Blade Runner 2099.
In the 2017 sequel, set in 2049, Ryan Gosling plays a replicant blade runner who reveals a mystery that threatens society. Ford and Olmos repeated their work from the initial installations, along with Ana de Armas, Dave Bautista, and Jared Leto. Blade Runner 2099, as indicated by its title, will take place 50 years after the sequel.

Blade Runner 2099 is under development at Amazon Studios
According to Deadline, the show will be directed by Ridley Scott, who directed the original film in 1982. Apparently, Scott has expressed interest in directing a few episodes of the series, but there has been no official confirmation of that. According to reports, Amazon Studios has begun development on the series, which means making the next installment will be much faster than other endeavors currently being developed. At present, more writers are being sought, and production dates are being decided. Because of this, audiences may be able to see the film much sooner than they expected. The neo-noir science fiction universe of Blade Runner 2099 will introduce audiences to a generation of blade runners and replicants.
