WhatsApp Is Developing Its Own Animated Emojis

(CTN News) – WhatsApp has been adding many new features that are inspired by its competitor Telegram.

As a result, the popular messaging app is experimenting with its own version of animated emojis that replace the ones that can be found on iOS and Android with its own version.

Users of WhatsApp will soon be able to use animated emojis

WABetaInfo reported that the latest version of WhatsApp Desktop includes some animated emojis, as reported by them. In comparison to the Telegram ones, these emojis look very similar to the ones that appear in a larger size in the chat when you use Telegram.

In addition, the animated version of an emoji is automatically sent when the animated version is available for that emoji. It means that users will no longer have the option to choose between the regular WhatsApp emoji and the animated version of the same emoji.

In spite of the fact that animated emoji may make conversations more fun for some people, others may not like the fact that they cannot turn these features off since they are a part of their everyday lives.

There is an option to disable animated emoji on Telegram, for instance, but there isn’t an option for the beta version of WhatsApp to do the same thing.

It has been reported by WABetaInfo that WhatsApp’s animated emoji feature, which is set to release in the near future, is at the moment “under development” for WhatsApp’s Web and Desktop users.

According to the report, the platform also plans to bring these emojis to its iPhone and Android apps in the future. In spite of this, it is unclear when exactly the event will take place.

There is no doubt that it was worth noting that when Telegram introduced animated emoji, Apple rejected the update on the App Store because the animated versions of the emojis were designed based on Apple’s emoji design.

In order for Telegram to receive approval for the update, it had to remove an entire pack of animated emoji that was very similar to Apple’s animated emojis.

A number of new features will be added in the near future

There are a number of other new features that WhatsApp has been working on besides animated emojis. There is also a possibility of sending short video messages with the platform – something that is already available on Telegram – as an example.

We have also been working on a new feature called Expiring Groups for specific occasions on the platform, which we will be releasing shortly.
