Celtics Should Never Lose To 76ers, Eddie House Says

(CTN News) – In Game 1, the Philadelphia 76ers shocked the Boston Celtics. However, Eddie House thinks that the Sixers will not be able to give them trouble in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

A pivotal 114-102 win by Boston in Game 3 of the series on Friday night provided the Celtics with a 2-1 series lead going into Game 4.

House was clear after the Sixers’ victory that he believes they will not be able to beat the Celtics in the second round of the playoffs.

I don’t think there’s any way that we can lose to these guys,” the former C’s guard said on Celtics Postgame Live, during the Celtics postgame show.

“There’s no way. There’s no way. We should be running through them. Everybody should be eating dessert. Dinner has been served, dinner has been finished, and we are all in the dessert menu at this moment.”

Both of the Celtics’ wins in the series have come when Joel Embiid has been on the court for the Philadelphia 76ers. In Game 1, the Sixers won the game without their NBA MVP for the 2022-23 season, who dropped 30 points in their loss on Friday night.

It is becoming apparent to House that that was not an accident at all.

There was a discussion in the news yesterday about whether the Atlanta Hawks would be better off without Trae Young on the court. I was like, “No, no, that’s just crazy.’ In fact, I think the 76ers will do better without Joel Embiid,” House said.

In reality, if you watch the way they play, you can tell that they all rely on him to get it done for them as often as they can.

I don’t think that the 76ers are better off without Joel Embiid on the bench, because when they throw him the ball, everybody just stands around.

That is a different type of offense, and that is the way they play the game that they run. The 76ers don’t seem better with Joel Embiid on the bench, but that’s how I see it.”

The 76ers and Embiid might consider using these comments as bulletin board material in the future, if they do not already do so.

Philly is facing a must-win situation in Sunday’s Game 4 at the Wells Fargo Center. There will be a Game 5 in Boston on Tuesday, which will mark the return of the series.
