Celtics Dominate Bulls, Advance To Knockout Round Of In-Season Tournament.

(CTN News) – On Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics dominated the Chicago Bulls with Jaylen Brown scoring 30 points and Jayson Tatum contributing 21 points.

The Celtics’ impressive performance earned them a spot in the quarterfinals of the NBA In-Season Tournament after winning a three-team tiebreaker with Orlando and Brooklyn based on point differential.

As a result, they secured the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference and will face the No. 2 Indiana Pacers next week.

The Celtics made a season-high 21 3-pointers,

With Al Horford and Jrue Holiday each contributing four.

All five Boston starters scored in double figures, with Horford finishing with 16 points and nine rebounds, and Holiday returning after missing two games with a sprained right ankle to score 14 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds.

The Celtics beat the Bulls 51-38 in rebounds and had a 52% field goal percentage, extending the Bulls’ losing streak to five games.

Despite having the best record in the NBA, the needed a win to secure a spot in the quarterfinals. DeRozan and White scored 19 points each for Chicago, but the Celtics’ outside shooting was too much for the Bulls to handle. Boston made 21 of 49 3-point attempts, surpassing their previous record of 20.

The Celtics dominated the second quarter, scoring 38 points and establishing a 69-50 halftime lead.

Chicago only had three turnovers in the first half, but they made three more in the third quarter. The Celtics took advantage of every mistake the Bulls made and managed to increase their lead to as much as 32 points.

Keeping the point difference in mind, Boston kept pushing forward. Although Tatum missed a long jumper, Sam Hauser was able to grab the rebound and slam it back for a 104-75 lead with 8:52 remaining in the game.
