Chicago Bulls Dominate Second Half To Beat Los Angeles Lakers

(CTN News) – The Chicago Bulls commenced their six-game homestand with an impressive 124-108 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday evening.

Following a confidence-boosting triumph over the formidable Philadelphia 76ers, the Bulls continued their positive momentum by displaying a well-rounded scoring performance. With eight players contributing double-digit points, the team’s record improved to 12-17.

The Bulls have not been recognized for their proficiency in long-range shooting in recent years. However, in their game against the Lakers, they demonstrated their accuracy from beyond the arc by making 18 three-pointers, which matches their season-high record.

Five players contributed significantly to this feat, with Ayo Dosunmu leading the way by making four three-pointers. Patrick Williams, Nikola Vucevic, Alex Caruso, and Coby White each made three three-pointers.

Chicago’s offense was in top form against the Lakers, as DeMar DeRozan scored 27 points, dished out nine assists, and grabbed seven rebounds.

Coby White contributed 17 points, Dosunmu came off the bench and scored 14 points, while Vucevic recorded his 16th double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Williams and Caruso contributed 15 points each, while Andre Drummond and Jevon Carter, who came off the bench, scored 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Bulls initially had a comfortable lead of 18 points, but the Lakers managed to narrow the gap to just two points, 67-69, with eight minutes remaining in the third quarter.

However, Chicago remained composed and responded with a 21-11 run, ending the third quarter with a 12-point advantage, 90-78.

The Lakers are experiencing a downturn as they have lost four out of their last five games, following their victory in the In-Season Tournament.

Despite this, LeBron James had an impressive performance, narrowly missing out on a triple-double with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. It is worth noting that this game marked the 20th anniversary of his first encounter with the Bulls.
