Cam Newton Signs One-year, US$10Million Contract with Panthers

The former NFL MVP Cam Newton who and led the Carolina Panthers to Super Bowl 50 is again in Panther black and blue. The NFL MVP signed a one-year deal with the Panthers worth up to $10 million.

Furthermore, the deal includes $4.5 million fully guaranteed and a $1.5 million roster bonus, the NFL Network report.

Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer also confirmed that Newton had passed his physical exam and officially signed the one-year contract with the team.

Cam Newton also met with the team’s owners on Thursday morning to finalize the contract with the team that selected him as first overall in a draft pick 10-year ago. Newton has spent the preseason and all of the 2020 NFL season with the New England Patriots.

The Panthers management said it won’t rule out Newton being ready to play in Week 10 of the NFL lineup against the Cardinals.

Cam Newton led the Panthers to an NFC title in 2015

Newton arrives just in time for another previously unlikely but now celebrated reunion. The Washington Football Team aka Washington Redskins and coach Ron Rivera, who served as the Panthers’ coach will travel to Carolina in Week 11 of the NFL lineup

Above all, Cam Newton rose to stardom with the Panthers 10 years ago to become a passing and running machine who proved to be incredibly difficult to contain. With Ron Rivera directing the Panthers from the sideline, Newton helped Carolina reach the postseason four times between 2011 and 2019. Leading Carolina to an NFC title in 2015.

That 2015 NFL season also saw Cam Newton take the National Football league by storm. Powering an offense that lifted the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 regular-season record. Newton earned MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors and his only All-Pro selection in the season.

His season ended in a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Denver Broncos at the NFL’s Super Bowl 50.
