(CTN News) – On Saturday afternoon, Notre Dame will go to Carter-Finley Stadium to play NC State in a matchup for the first time this season.

This is after winning four consecutive games to start the season on a positive note. During the last two weeks, the Irish have opened the season by winning back-to-back games by a combined score of 98-6 over two overmatched teams in Navy and Tennessee State.

This season, the Irish will begin a more difficult stretch of their schedule when they face the Wolfpack for the first time. For the fourth time in the history of the school, N.C. State will be playing the Irish for the first time since 1961, after winning its season opener last week against an upstart UConn squad.

It has been a good start for Notre Dame so far, as the team has won two out of three games so far, including a win back in 2017.

Notre Dame dominated Tennessee State by a final score of 56-3 last week at Notre Dame Stadium as the Fighting Irish defeated them by a final score of 56-3.

It is the first time since 1975 that the Irish have held their first two opponents to zero touchdowns, while a 28-point second quarter has opened up a massive lead for the Irish.

For NC State, they opened their season last week with a 24-14 victory over UConn which was an impressive win for the Pack.

During the third quarter, NC State’s Brennan Armstrong threw for 155 yards as his confidence under center continued to grow, while the Wolfpack rushed for 209 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

At Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Notre Dame and NC State will be facing off.
