Donald Trump to Face 34 Felonies for Falsifying Business Records in Hush Money Case
(CTN News) – For the first time in American history, a sitting president has been indicted on criminal charges; however, former President Donald Trump has been declared not guilty on all counts.
According to Newsweek, citing a report by Yahoo News, Donald Trump faces 34 class E felonies for falsifying business records related to the $130,000 hush payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.
The ex-president is accusing the Democratic Manhattan district attorney, Alvin Bragg, of conducting a “political witch hunt” against him to damage his run for president in 2024.
How many years is Donald Trump facing?
According to Donald Trump’s attorney Lisa Bloom on Tuesday, if Trump is proven guilty of all 34 counts of business fraud, he faces a possible prison term of 136 years.
According to Bloom’s Twitter thread, the maximum sentence for each charge against the ex-president is four years in jail. This adds up to a whopping 136 years behind bars.
If the news is true, Trump will be formally charged with 34 felonies tomorrow. Each offense brings a maximum sentence of 4 years in prison. She wrote, “Bragg would not bring this case without strong evidence.”
If this report is correct, Trump will be arraigned tomorrow on 34 FELONIES.
Each carries a possible prison term of 4 years.
Bragg would not bring this case without strong evidence. Remember, this is the same DA’s office that recently convicted the Trump Org for criminal fraud.… https://t.co/gBO9Qf1Gwm

This district attorney’s office found the Trump Organization guilty of illegal fraud.
Regarding Trump’s shifting narratives regarding the hush money payments, Bloom stated that the legal profession refers to this as a “consciousness of guilt.”
On Twitter, she claimed that Trump had been questioned numerous times about the hush money paid to Daniels and that each time he had lied.
During his interview with Fox and Friends, Donald Trump also claimed that the money for the payment did not originate from the campaign. And since campaign disclosures are public record, he must have been attempting to hide something,” Bloom said in another tweet.
Later in 2018, Trump says in a Fox and Friends interview that the hush money paid to Stormy Daniels “came from me.”
Oh, so I guess you did know about it?
So why did you lie on Air Force One?
We trial lawyers call this “consciousness of guilt.”

Is Donald Trump in prison?
The likelihood of Trump spending time in prison, even if he is found guilty, is low, according to many experts. Furthermore, he is not barred from standing for president in 2024.
Expert on the United States Michael Tappin told Newsweek that “the court case is going to go on for a very long time” and that Donald Trump “has said that he is going to mount a vigorous defense.” “Donald Trump is still the frontrunner among Republican candidates now.”
Also up in the air is how long Donald Trump will spend behind bars; Bragg suggests the court will make that call.
This indicates that the ex-president has not yet been incarcerated.
