Kings Lead Warriors 2-0 After Beating Warriors 114-106

(CTN News) – Warriors: Sacramento Kings focused on remaining focused as the referees assessed whether Draymond Green should be ejected for his harsh stomp.

With De’Aaron Fox leading the Kings to a 2-0 series lead, the defending NBA champions are reeling.

As the playoff newcomers defeated the Golden State Warriors 114-106 Monday night, Fox scored 24 points and made a backbreaking 3-pointer.

Fox said, “I think that brought us together.”. The team huddled up and said, “We have to win this game.” Everyone thought he would be ejected. That usually results in the team coming together and going on a run. Nevertheless, we were able to negate it.”

As a result of Green’s flagrant foul on Domantas Sabonis, the Kings closed the game strongly. After the Warriors took a 2-0 series lead, they became the first team in Stephen Curry’s era to do so.

Thursday night’s Game 3 in San Francisco will be the Warriors’ last chance to win this series.

Curry said, “It must be embraced.”. “We need to stay together and locked in for as long as we can.”.

During the fourth quarter, Green stomped on Sabonis’ chest, causing him to be ejected for a flagrant foul.

When Green waved his hands, held a hand to his ear, and stood on a chair, fans in Sacramento chanted derogatory chants at him.

“My leg was grabbed,” Green said. “This is the second night in a row. The referees just watch it. There’s got to be a place where I land my foot. My flexibility isn’t that great, so it’s not stretching that far. “I can only go so far.”

After the game, Sabonis underwent X-rays to ensure his ribs and lungs were not damaged.

Whether or not Green will be suspended will be decided by the NBA.

Brown called it a flagrant-2 without a doubt. As soon as the NBA reviews it, it will be interesting to see what they do.

To the delight of the towel-waving crowd, the Warriors fought back to tie the game before the Kings went on a 17-8 run to win.

With 2:17 left, Fox hit a 3-pointer to make it 107-101 and the Kings had taken control. Within 1:18 of the end, Davion Mitchell put it away with another 3 that made it 112-103.

Fox called Mitchell’s shot the “nail in the coffin” because of the big three in the corner.

Aside from Sabonis, Malik Monk contributed 18 points for Sacramento.

Curry led the Warriors with 28 points but shot only 3 of 13 from 3-point range. During the game, the Warriors committed 22 turnovers.

“They played better down the stretch than we did,” said coach Steve Kerr. We were outplayed physically by them tonight.”

Sacramento’s first playoff game after a record 16-season drought wasn’t quite as loud at the start as it was in the series opener.

A second-quarter spark from Monk, who scored 32 points in the opener, got the crowd going. An initial six-point deficit became a nine-point lead after Monk hit three 3-pointers in the first 2:04 of the period.

After tying it with a 3-pointer by Curry, Golden State trailed 58-52 at the half.

The Kings built a 14-point lead in the third quarter before the Warriors scored eight straight points. In the fourth quarter, Sacramento led 83-75.
