The Bentley Company Is Finally Going To Produce Fast Cars

(CTN News) – Bentleys are not often accused of underpowering. Under their hoods, the venerable W12 engine powers the Batur to a peak of 730 horsepower at the last blast.

It is the company’s boss who promises greater power for Bentley as it moves towards electrification-and ultimately electric cars-as the company moves towards electrification.

As Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark said in an interview with Autocar this week, “all the traditional qualities will go up another notch with this brand new model.”

There will also be an increase of 50% to 100% in power on our new powertrains compared to what we are currently offering. Thus, performance will still be there.

To all the math majors out there, that’d be somewhere in the ballpark of 500 to 1,500 horsepower. The outlet also reported that Hallmark told the outlet Bentley’s EVs would be fueled by two different batteries, although it’s unclear whether that refers to their size or chemistry.

With this option, the company will continue to offer the “Speed” moniker that the company has long used on its most powerful models, such as the Continental GT Speed and the Bentayga Speed.

Bentley the hoi polloi may not have a battery as large as the one for the Bentley the hoi polloi, but it should still have an impressive range of around 350 miles.

It is somewhat in line with Bentley’s status as a grand-touring automaker, even though batteries are not replenished as quickly as gas tanks during the course of a driving day.

In the case of Hallmark, they claimed that their batteries would charge up to 80% in under 20 minutes, which I suppose would be just enough time to enjoy an espresso and a cornetto.

According to Bentley, by 2030 and after, all of their models will have electrified versions, including a new nameplate we haven’t yet seen, as well as EV versions of all of their models.

A plug-in hybrid version of the Bentayga and Flying Spur is already available, and the Continental coupe and convertible range is soon to follow.

There was no mention of what other nameplates would be added to the line-up, but if it’s not an SUV today, then it better have a good reason for not being an SUV.

In 2026, the automaker may very well launch its first all-electric vehicle under the new nameplate, as well.

As Hallmark told Autocar, its first electric vehicle will not be an electrified version of a model that has already been on sale for a long time.

There is a possibility that Bentley will release a new Bentayga with an all-electric platform – VW, Bentley’s parent company, is working on producing a new platform that could easily be used as a basis for a Bentley EV – or a smaller SUV with an electric motor.

In the words of Hallmark, “our job is to build Bentleys.”. “We are not building BEVs with badges attached to them.”.
