Queen Elizabeth II, 95, conducted two virtual audience engagements on Tuesday while suffering from COVID-19 disease. The British queen virtually met with ambassadors from Chad and Andorra, according to Buckingham Palace. According to Associated Press, the Queen had canceled several activities last week after testing positive for Coronavirus, so the latest meeting suggests that she is recovering.
Queen Elizabeth II tested positive for COVID-19 according to a palace statement released on February 20, triggering concerns as well as good wishes from across the political spectrum. Her palace added that she could continue to perform “light duties” at Windsor despite having “mild cold-like symptoms”. BBC reported that the statement also emphasized that the Queen would receive medical care in accordance with COVID-19 protocol.
Before Prince Charles had tested positive for COVID, the Queen, who contracted the disease on Sunday, had visited her eldest son and heir, Prince Charles. Charles and the Queen were supposed to have met at Windsor Castle on February 8. Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, was diagnosed with the virus on February 14.
