PlayStation Showcase Is Now Available On Sony's Website

(CTN News) – In the PlayStation Showcase on Wednesday, Sony is planning to give PlayStation fans an hour-long preview of what’s next for PlayStation 5, as well as PlayStation VR 2.

There will be an opportunity to see “several new developments from PlayStation Studios,” as well as games coming from third parties and indie developers, according to the PlayStation maker.

As part of PlayStation Studios, Sony includes veteran game developers such as Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, and Sucker Punch Productions, as well as newer additions to Sony’s stable, such as Haven Studios and Firewalk Studios.

Insomniac will be showing off Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine, while Naughty Dog will be showcasing their multiplayer The Last of Us game, Guerrilla will be showing off their multiplayer Horizon game, and there will certainly be plenty of other projects that we don’t know about yet.

There has been speculation that Sony will launch more than ten live-service games by the end of 2026, and Wednesday’s showcase may provide a better understanding of this plan.

Since this will be a PlayStation Showcase – rather than a smaller State of Play livestream – we can expect Sony to bring an E3-sized lineup to the event.

WHAT TIME IS THE PLAYSTATION SHOWCASE AND WHERE CAN I WATCH IT?

There will be a live stream of Sony’s PlayStation Showcase on both YouTube and Twitch on Wednesday, May 24, beginning at 4 p.m. in Eastern Standard Time or 1 p.m. in the Pacific Standard Time PDT.

Check out the time of Wednesday’s PlayStation Showcase in your time zone here.

The show is expected to last about an hour and a half, according to Sony.

A PLAYSTATION SHOWCASE was held last year. When was it held?

There was a PlayStation Showcase broadcast by Sony in September 2021, which was the most recent show. It was during that 40-minute event when the planned (and now postponed) remake of Star Wars:

Knights of the Old Republic was revealed, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Wolverine were revealed, and Project Eve, the game now known as Stellar Blade, was showcased.

There have been a number of other games released since that 2021 showcase, including Gran Turismo 7, God of War Ragnarök, Ghostwire: Tokyo, Forspoken, and Deathloop, to name a few.
