Alibaba Launches Upgraded AI Model To Challenge Microsoft And Amazon

(CTN News) – Alibaba launched a new artificial intelligence model on Tuesday, as it competes with rivals such as Amazon and Microsoft in the U.S. technology sector.

It has been announced that Tongyi Qianwen 2.0, the latest large language model (LLM) from China’s biggest cloud computing and e-commerce company, has been released.

A LLM is trained on huge amounts of data and can be used to develop generative AI applications such as ChatGPT, which is being developed by a U.S. company named OpenAI and is based upon LLMs.

According to Alibaba, Tongyi Qianwen 2.0 was a “substantial upgrade” from its predecessor, Tongyi Qianwen 1.0, which was introduced in April.

In a press release, Alibaba said that Tongyi Qianwen 2.0 demonstrates a variety of remarkable abilities, including the ability to understand complex instructions, copywriting, reasoning, memorizing, and preventing hallucinations.

A hallucination is the result of an artificial intelligence that displays inaccurate information to the user.

Alibaba released AI models designed for applications in specific industries and uses – such as legal counseling and finance – as part of its focus on businesses and businesses as a whole.

There were also announcements made by the Hangzhou-based company about the GenAI Service Platform, which allows companies to build their own generative AI applications, using their own data, through the use of GenAI Service Platform.

Among the concerns that businesses have when it comes to public generative AI products like ChatGPT is the possibility that third parties may gain access to the data that is being generated.

In addition to Alibaba, other major cloud players are also offering companies tools so that they can build their own generative AI products using their own data, which would be protected by these providers as part of their service packages as part of their platform.

In the AI industry, Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Studio and Amazon Web Service’s Bedrock are two services that compete against each other.

In spite of the fact that Alibaba has the biggest market share in China for cloud services, the company is trying to catch up with the likes of Amazon and Microsoft in the rest of the world.
