Miss USA 2019 Jumps to Her Death From New York Condo
According to the New York Police Department, Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst jumped to her death from the 29th floor of the Orion building on Sunday morning.
New York Police were called to the 60-story high-rise in the theatre district of Manhattan at 7:05 a.m. on a report that a woman jumped from the terrace of the building.
The NYPD says they suspect that Kryst committed suicide, but it is up to the medical examiner to determine the cause of death after an autopsy. Kryst was pronounced dead at the scene according to Fox News.
Previously a civil litigation attorney Kryst holds both an MBA and law degree from Wake Forest University and was crowned Miss USA in 2019.

The Miss Universe and Miss USA Organizations said in a joint statement, “She was one of the brightest, kindest, and most loving people we have ever had the pleasure of knowing.”Kryst’s family praised her for “embodying love and serving others.

“‘Our beloved Cheslie has passed away,’ her family said in devastation and profound sorrow. “Her bright light inspired others with its beauty and strength around the world. She cared, she loved, she laughed, and she shone.”

Former Miss USA nominated for an Emmy

The former Miss USA winner work for Extra TV as an entertainment news correspondent earned her an Emmy nomination.

“Our hearts are broken,” Extra TV said in an official statement. We extend our deepest condolences to Cheslie’s family and friends. Cheslie wasn’t just a vital part of our show, she was a beloved member of our Extra family.

Sources said Kryst left behind a note saying she wanted to leave everything to her mother, a former pageant competitor herself who was crowned Mrs North Carolina in 2002.

The note didn’t include a motive for Kryst’s actions, sources said.

In October 2019, Kryst spoke out on Facebook for World Mental Health Day, offering tips on how she coped with stress.

“I do a lot to make sure that I maintain my mental health,” she said. “And the most important thing that I did is talk to a counsellor. She’s really easy to talk to. She gives me great strategies especially if I’m sad or happy or have a busy month ahead of me.

“When I’m not talking to my counsellor, I spend time at the end of every single day to just decompress,” Kryst added. “I unplug, I shut my phone off, I don’t answer messages. I just sit and watch my favourite movies.”

Cheslie Kryst posted a picture on Instagram with the caption, “May this day bring you rest and peace.” just hours before she passed away.
