Whatsapp Chats Can Be Hidden Without Deleting Them

(CTN News) – WhatsApp provides a convenient method of hiding chats without having to delete them. Whether you want to hide WhatsApp chats for privacy reasons or to declutter your chat list, here is a guide on how to do so on both Android and iOS.

Android-compatible

1. Launch WhatsApp on your Android device.

2. For access to your chat list, tap the “Chats” tab at the bottom of the screen.

3. Select the chat you wish to hide by long pressing it. A series of icons will appear at the top of the screen once you have selected the chat.

4. There is an icon at the top that looks like a box with an arrow pointing downward (this is the archive icon). Click on it. The selected chat will be archived as a result of this action.

5. View your archived chats by scrolling to the very top of your chat list. There will be a label that says “Archived chats.” Click on it to access your hidden chats.

6. A chat can be unarchived by long-pressing on it in the “Archived chats” section, and then tapping the “Unarchive” icon (a box with an upward pointing arrow). Your main chat list will be returned to you once the chat has ended.

Designed for iOS devices

1. You will need to launch WhatsApp on your iOS device in order to use it.

2. Click the “Chats” tab at the bottom of the screen to view your chats.

3. Hide a chat by swiping left on the chat you wish to hide. Several options will be displayed as a result.

4. Click on the option labeled “Archive” to archive the chat.

5. You can access your archived chats by tapping and pulling down on the main chat screen. The “Archived Chats” section will appear, where your hidden conversations can be found.

6. You can unarchive a chat by swiping left on it in the “Archived Chats” section, and then tapping “Unarchive.” The chat will appear on your main chat list once it has been unarchived.

Here are some Whatsapp additional tips

• Archived chats may still send you notifications if they are not muted. You may also wish to muffle them if you wish to keep them truly hidden.

• A chat is archived, not deleted. There is no loss of your chat history. The chat is simply moved to a separate section.

• Archived chats can still be searched and found using WhatsApp’s search function, even though they have been archived.

These steps will allow you to easily hide WhatsApp chats without having to delete them, resulting in an enhanced level of privacy and a clutter-free chat list.
