Lenovo Yoga Air 14s Now Available In China With Exclusive AMD Processor

(CTN NEWS) – The Ryzen 7 7840S, which is limited to a 30 W TDP, exhibits performance only 5% slower than the Ryzen 9 7940HS, which can boost to 54 W.

This specific variant is exclusive to Lenovo and is featured in the Yoga Air 14s ultrabooks.

These laptops come with 1 TB storage and 32 GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM and are currently available for approximately $1,140 in China, with availability elsewhere yet to be confirmed.

Lenovo’s Yoga Air 14s 2023 ultrabook, equipped with the Ryzen 7 7840S APU boasting a 30 W TDP, has become available in China.

The Ryzen 7 7840S appears to be a processor variant exclusive to Lenovo and the Chinese market at the moment.

Despite having a 15 W lower TDP when compared to the R9 7940HS models, the performance difference between them is negligible.

This makes the Ryzen 7 7840S a suitable choice for thin and light devices.

The Ryzen 7 7840S APU, as indicated by CPU-Z, shares very similar specifications with its 45 W counterparts, including a maximum boost frequency of 5.1 GHz and a 2.7 GHz clock speed for the Radeon 780M iGPU.

Tests conducted by MyDrivers reveal that the Ryzen 9 7940HS is only about 5% faster.

This is excellent news for various form factors, as it allows for cooler and quieter systems with longer-lasting battery life.

The Lenovo Yoga Air 14s 2023 model, in particular, comes with a 70 Wh battery that’s rated to last up to 14 hours in light office applications.

MyDrivers also highly recommends the 14.5-inch OLED touchscreen display on the new Yoga Air 14s.

It boasts an impressive resolution of 2944×1840 and offers one of the highest peak brightness levels for a 14-inch laptop, reaching up to 600 nits.

Additionally, it is Dolby Vision and HDR500 certified.

The display also features a variable refresh rate of 60Hz or 90Hz to help save battery life, and it covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, ensuring vibrant and accurate colors.

In terms of connectivity, the Yoga Air 14s offers a robust selection of ports, including 2x USB4 ports, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port, and an audio jack.

The laptop has a total weight of 1.28 kg and features a full aluminum chassis, available in Mercury Silver and Sunlight Reflection colors, with a slim profile measuring just 1.39 cm.

The Yoga Air 14s lineup offers consistent storage with 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage across all models.

The price variation primarily depends on the RAM capacity options.

The model with 16 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM is priced at approximately $1,100, while the variant with 32 GB of RAM is available for around US$1,140.

Additionally, there is another option featuring the Ryzen 5 7640S APU, although its price remains unspecified at this time.
