Yesterday, Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho appeared in Koh Samui Provincial Court to hear his son’s testimony. His son admitted to dismembering the corpse of his ex-boyfriend on Koh Phangan.
The court received testimony from Daniel Sancho Bronchalo, age 29, yesterday morning. Premeditated homicide and concealing and removing body parts to obscure the fact or cause of death are among the charges against him.
Rodolfo, his father, also testified in his favour. An interpreter was present in his company. The court, nevertheless, prohibited media coverage of the testimony.
Sancho reportedly requested a Thai-Spanish interpreter, according to Thai Media. The court subsequently rescheduled the testimony for 1:00 pm in order to procure a virtual interpreter.
Nevertheless, the suspect expressed his preference for the interpreter to be present during the testimony at the Koh Samui Provincial Court. The court subsequently opted to postpone the testimony until November 13.
On August 1, the suspect purportedly murdered his boyfriend, the 44-year-old Colombian plastic surgeon Edwin Arrieta Arteaga, on the island of Koh Phangan.
The day prior to Arrieta, on July 31, the suspect arrived in Thailand. Arrieta reserved a hotel room for them prior to their August 2 meeting on Koh Phangan; however, Mr. Sancho had a reservation at an alternative hotel, where he subsequently committed the homicide.
