A Magnitude 3.7 Earthquake Strikes Near San Jose

(CTN NEWS) – San Francisco residents reported feeling shaking after a small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.7 struck near San Jose.

The quake’s epicenter was around 10 miles east of San Jose, or 48 miles southeast of San Francisco, and it occurred on Monday at 3:13 p.m.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) estimated the Monday earthquake’s magnitude to be 3.7. It claimed to have struck at a depth of 4 miles.

Although there were no early reports of damage or injuries, San Jose was shaken. Sunnyvale, San Mateo, Fremont, Oakland, and San Francisco were all affected.
