(CTN NEWS) – We all anticipated what would happen as soon as it was disclosed that Ashley’s skirt couldn’t be looked up in Resident Evil 4 Remake.
However, considering how popular the game was almost everywhere, I believe many of us anticipated a decline in the “wokeness” concerns. However, the Metacritic user ratings show that they are a devoted group.
Resident Evil 4’s supposedly “going woke”
It doesn’t matter if the criticisms are directed at Ashley’s tights or the fact that her ballistics don’t get the same focus they did in the original, Resident Evil 4 Remake is inundated with claims of “going woke.”
On some systems, this has caused the game’s Metacritic user score to drop as low as 4/10, as some players appear content to ignore the entire experience for a few minor dialogue and character model tweaks.
“Humor has vanished. The majority of voice performance is subpar. In some places, it’s even woke,” laments one critic. This little remake “is pretty depressing.”
Another criticizes Ashley and Ada in the adaptation for being too “brave.” They gripe that “politically correctness is more important to Capcom than creating a good game.”
One user, aptly known as no_thanks_bro, has repeatedly posted their own evaluation on all social media sites.
They grumble about the gameplay, calling the fighting “boring,” but they also gripe about Leon no longer yelling “women” in a huff.
Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Sexualized Content
An additional dissatisfied client states, “Politically correct plot.” “No shooting, working overtime, or looking at Ashley’s bits.”
Many other reviews have been written about how Ashley wasn’t sexualized or offered to give Leon sex after the game.
Of course, a lot of the negative evaluations include some legitimate criticisms. Some PS5 users, in particular, appear to be dissatisfied with the performance as they struggle to keep the frame rate at 60.
Although I haven’t observed it on the Xbox Series S, this is true of a graphical downgrade, so it’s possible that for some players the game isn’t up to the PS5/Series X standard.
Others are also unhappy that the game doesn’t have options like Mercenaries and Separate Ways. Separate Ways being paid DLC in the future is another worry, though it hasn’t been verified.
