Thai Health Officials Fret Over People Refusing Vaccinations

In Thailand, the Ministry of Public Health has instructed health officials to investigate why so many people are refusing vaccinations against COVID-19, so that appropriate campaign strategies and incentives can be devised to encourage them to get vaccinated.

There are still about 10 million people who haven’t received their first dose of vaccinations to reach a government target of 100 million doses by the end of the month.

Members of the public, including foreign workers and particularly the elderly and bedridden, will be able to receive free vaccinations from November 27th to December 5th as part of the ministry’s vaccination campaign.

A free vaccination program is also being offered in Din Daeng by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

Dr. Kiattibhoom said that the ministry has adopted the “VUCA” strategy, which emphasizes vaccination, universal prevention, COVID-free settings, and antigen test kits for reopening Thailand’s provinces.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he stated that new infections have stabilized and deaths and severe cases are declining. Despite this, 13 provinces are still being closely monitored.

These 13 provinces can be divided into three categories:
