Compared To Your Tesla, This One Is Even Faster

(CTN News) – Tesla Model S Plaid owners can now upgrade their vehicles with the latest upgrade kit. Track Packs consist of new  wheels, tyres and brakes, as well as an increase in the maximum speed of the electric car.

This kit is currently available in the United States for $15,000 to $20,000 (£12,000 to $16,000), depending on the items you purchase, and Tesla says that first orders will be available in June.

For the Model S Plaid, the track pack includes four 410 mm discs with carbon ceramic brakes, a six-piston caliper at the front and four-piston caliper at the rear.

The package also includes an integration of caliper-mounted parking brakes, track-ready brake fluid that is designed to operate at higher temperatures, and a firmware update.

The kit also includes a new set of forged, 20-inch Zero-G wheels with Goodyear Supercar 3R tyres. In some states of the United States, these vehicles are road legal, but not in the United Kingdom.

The track pack (along with the Tesla Model S Plaid) will require drivers to switch to their sticky on-road tyres when they reach the circuit if the track pack makes its way to our shores.

Also, Elon Musk has delivered on a promise he made when he first introduced the Model S Plaid by increasing the top speed from 163 mph to 200 mph with the track pack.

This car is already a 1,000-horsepower electric saloon with three electric Tesla motors that can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in two seconds. It has a claimed range of almost 400 miles.

Furthermore, it will be able to reach 100 mph in just under 4.2 seconds, which is faster than a Bugatti Chiron. It is also absurd that 60 to 130 mph can be reached in under five seconds with in-gear acceleration. Licensing is probably one of the quickest ways to lose your license.

On the software side, the Track Pack provides improved battery conditioning, which keeps the Model S Plaid cool after a track session.

It also provides advanced air suspension settings, and improved torque vectoring between the three Tesla motors. In addition, the car’s software allows the driver to control the amount of power sent to the front or rear wheels.

It is currently available in the US, but no word has yet been given as to when the Model S Plaid (or the optional track pack) will be available in the UK.

Currently, the car can be ordered with a refundable deposit of £100, but there is no estimated delivery date at this time.
