(CTN News) – Compared to the HiLux, or the first-generation Amarok, the updated Volkswagen Amarok is expected to be cheaper to service – although it is marginally more expensive than the Ford Ranger it is based on.

Volkswagen Australia has introduced a prepaid care plan for the Amarok that will cost you $1800 for five years or 75,000 kilometres if you choose one of the plans offered by the company.

It is expected that the Amarok’s price will be $200 more affordable than the equivalent package for a 2022 four-cylinder diesel, and $400 more affordable than the equivalent package for a 2022 turbo-diesel V6 in 2022.

When you do not opt for the Care Plan with the new Amarok, the first, second, and fourth services will cost $329, the third service will cost $414, and the fifth service will cost $400 – exactly the same price over five years, but it is paid for at the time of service rather than being included in the car’s purchase price at the time.

If you were to choose to not opt for a Care Plan for the previous generation Amarok, the service costs would have been frightening; the 2022 four-cylinder model would have cost you $3805 over five years or 100,000 kilometres, while the V6 would have cost you $4019 over five years or 100,000 kilometres.

The new Amarok, as well as its predecessor, has no doubt been able to keep up with most of its main rivals when it comes to performance and comfort.

According to the Toyota HiLux contract, maintenance must be carried out every six months or every 10,000 kilometres as part of the contract, and just three years of maintenance will cost you a total of $1740.

Upon the expiration of the capped-price offer, Toyota will no longer be able to offer a discount.

According to the brand, you will have to pay an additional $2024 for the next four visits, for a total cost of $3764 over the course of a five-year period.

Isuzu D-Max, which has a capped-price cost of $2435 and the Mitsubishi Triton has a capped-price cost of $2895, and the top-selling Ford Ranger with which the Amarok shares a platform and engines has a price-capped price of $1716.

Why is VW stopping the Amarok?

Why has VW stopped making the Amarok? The Amarok was removed from sale just before the Covid pandemic hit the world. However, it was always Volkswagen’s plan to reincarnate its popular pickup truck. This second-generation model is closely related to the Ford Ranger.
