Woman Walks Again 4 Year After Her Husband Pushed off a Cliff in Thailand

After four years of therapy, a Chinese woman who lost the baby she was carrying after her husband pushed her off a cliff in northeastern Thailand can finally stand and walk by herself.

Ms. Wang Nan’s husband attempted to steal her money by pushing her off a cliff, leaving her with several fractured bones and other injuries.

“Go to hell” was the last thing Wang Nan heard before her husband kissed her on the cheek, then threw her pushed her off a cliff at the Pha Taem National Park in Kong Chiam district, Ubon Ratchathani, where he had allegedly taken her to witness the sunrise on June 9, 2019.

Wang, who was three months pregnant at the time crashed into a rock at the bottom of the cliff. She lay in agony for half an hour until a tourist discovered her and rescue workers brought her to a nearby hospital.

Wang suffered 17 bone fractures as a result of the accident and has had over 100 steel nails implanted into her body, as well as over 200 sutures. She has had many surgeries and intense rehabilitative care since her fall.

Wang was able to stand and walk without the use of a stick at the beginning of this year, according to SCMP.

“All the difficulties that could not kill me will only strengthen me,” she said. Wang claimed she had considered quitting the difficult rehabilitation procedure several times, but she eventually found the strength to persevere.

“Will my body improve if I give up?” Will my mental health improve? I have to keep my emotions at bay and suffer all of the difficulties with the solid purpose of becoming a better person,” Wang explained. “I would be confined to bed and a wheelchair forever if I didn’t do the rehabilitation,” she said.

Wang, a former businesswoman who traded commodities between China and Thailand, met Yu Xiaodong in 2017 and married two months later. She claimed Yu planned to kill her and take her tens of millions of yuan (several million US dollars) in assets.

During their marriage, Yu was unemployed and frequently pressed her for money to pay off his gambling debts.

“The time between being pushed off that cliff and being able to stand up has been the darkest period of my life,” Wang recalled.

“He annihilated my world, he betrayed me. My baby died. My health had failed me. My professional career was also jeopardized. My future plans had also vanished. “My entire life has been reduced to ash.”

A Thai court sentenced Yu Xiaodong to life in prison in 2020. A first appeal resulted in his sentence being reduced to ten years, a decision Wang is currently challenging.

In 2021, Wang attempted to sell things via live-streaming on social media platforms in Nanjing, China’s eastern Jiangsu province. Her ailments, however, caused her to discontinue the strenuous labour. Wang shared her ordeal on Douyin.com, where she received tens of thousands of followers.

“A lot of people left messages for me. Some were experiencing varying degrees of adversity and were at a loss. They claimed they felt encouraged after watching my films since what I went through was more difficult than their problems, yet I did not give up to fate,” Wang added.

“I will respond and encourage them.” “This is why I’m telling my story,” she explained.

“It’s great that you can stand. I was concerned about you. “Your life will get better and better,” one user on Douyin said.

“What a strong woman! “God has blessed her,” wrote another.

“That man is not a husband, but a devil,” observed another internet observer. He deserves the harshest penalty.”
