Tour Bus Overturns Injuring 20 French Toursist in Phetchaburi Province

PHETCHABURI – About 20 French tourists were injured, one of them seriously, after their tour bus a hit road barrier and flipped onto its side in Phetchaburi Povince.
The bus opperated by CRT Transport Co, carrying 30 tourists from France and a guide from Bangkok to Cha-am district, tried to avoid a collision with a truck on Phetkasem road in Khao Yoi district of Phetchaburi early Monday.
The driver of the bus, Chairat Srisilp, said he was forced to swerve the vehicle after the 10-wheel lorry in another lane suddenly changed lanes.
Wichit Tibanteng the truck driver said he tried to apply brakes after losing control of the vehicle due to slippery road conditions, according to the Bangkok Post.
Pol Lt Col Nimit Watsuwan, a duty officer of Khao Yoi police station, said about 20 tourists were injured, one of them seriously. They were transported to Khao Yoi hospital and Pak Tho hospital in Ratchaburi for examination and treatment.
The seriously hurt passenger stayed at Khao Yoi hospital with one of her friends, he added.
The remaining passengers continued their trip on a new bus from Bangkok sent to drive them to the Regent Chaam Beach Resort.
