Children Happy as Snow Town Opens at Gateway Ekamai Shopping Complex in Bangkok
BANGKOK – Snow Town has finally opened on the fifth floor of the Gateway Ekamai shopping complex in Bangkok, offering children to the chance to make snowmen, have snowball fights or even have skiing lessons.
The winter wonderland has slides, Ice sculptures, sledging and snowball fights – the last activities you would normally associate with Thailand.
But children in Bangkok have been treated to a winter wonderland theme park, and for some this is the first time they have ever seen snow.Â
Youngsters’ faces lit up as they got to experience the sub-zero magical landscape at the Snow Town which opened this month.Â
The attraction is located on the fifth floor of Gateway Ekamai shopping complex and offers guests an opportunity to build snowmen and make snow angels.
The artificial snow is said to be 30-40cm thick so visitors can book lessons in activities such as skiing and snowboarding or enjoy a good old-fashioned snowball fight.Â
Along with this, there is an igloo-style ice house, a snowy village and even artificial snow which falls on guests.
Entry to the snow playground costs just 100 THB (£1.83) with equipment hire for lessons costing extra.Â
The bustling city has another winter theme park, Harbin Ice Wonderland, which features ice art sculptures of London’s Big Ben and Paris’ Eiffel Tower.
