40 Year-Old Hong Kong Man Falls to His Death from Bangkok Balcony
BANGKOK – A 40 year-old man from Hong Kong has died after falling from the fourth floor balcony at the IVY Ratchada Condominium in Huai Kwang district, northern Bangkok.
Pol Lt Phollawat Wisomka, deputy investigation chief at Sutthisan police station told Thai media that police and rescue workers were called to a condominium in Bangkok’s Huai Khwang district late on Thursday night to discover the body of a man lying face-down on the ground between two cars in the parking area in front of one of the three 8-storey condominium building.
Witnesses say the man identified as Jefryanto Bin from Hong Kong seemed to be stepping back when he fell from the condo.
Police examined his room on the fourth floor and found the sliding glass door was open. They examined the room and found no traces of a struggle inside.
Authorities believe that the fall was likely an accident as preliminary inspection showed two persons had visited him at 5pm on Wednesday but had left before the incident happened.
His body has been sent to Ramathibodi Hospital for a post-mortem examination. His relatives would be contacted to pick up his body for religious rites.
