Landslide In Colombia Has Killed 3 People And Left 20 Missing
(CTN NEWS) – Authorities in Colombia said a road was swamped in a landslide on Sunday, killing three people and trapping about 20 others in the mud.
In a rural area of the northwest Colombian municipality of Pueblo Rico, rescue workers were looking for passengers on a bus and a motorcycle who had been involved in the collision.
“Nine people were saved, three died, and there are still maybe 20 people missing.” Gustavo Petro, the president, stated on Twitter, “It is a disaster.”

One of the victims aimed that the bus driver avoided the worst of the landslide.
“The bus was a little way back from that as part of it was falling.” Andres Ibarguen informed the radio station Lloro Stereo that “the bus driver was reversing when everything collapsed.”
Civil defense personnel said that the bus had left the city of Cali with 25 people on board.
The government claims that this year’s rainy season, which started in August, is Colombia’s worst in 40 years, as a result of which over 270 people have died in accidents.
