Audi Thailand Seeks Dealership Investors in Northern Thailand

 

BANGKOK – Meister Technik, an authorized importer and distributor of German luxury cars, says Audi is committing to a network expansion plan to cover all regions of Thailand by 2019.

Chairman Krisada Lamsam said the company announced the plan in March and opened its first dealership in Pattaya last month.

The Audi Pattaya location required an investment of roughly 100 million baht.

He said Meister Technik, also known as Audi Thailand, plans to open a second location in Phuket later this year.

For 2019, Audi Thailand seeks dealership investors in Chiang Mai and Udon Thani, and expects to complete deals within a year.

“The network expansion is part of our plan to increase local motorists’ confidence not only in Audi but also other customers who intend to buy this premium brand,” said Mr Krisada, also vice-chairman of the board of directors of Muang Thai Life Assurance and director of Muang Thai Insurance.

Meister Technik pitched the right to be importer and distributor of Audi cars in October 2016, replacing German Motor Work Co, which was run by the Leenutaphong family.

German Motor Work marketed the Audi brand in Thailand for more than 20 years.

In a related development, Audi Thailand on Monday opened its new headquarters on Pradit Manutham Road.

This facility opens after operations of wholly owned outlets and service centres on New Phetchaburi Road began.

Audi Thailand spent 1.4 billion baht on these two facilities.

Mr Krisada said it will seek new investors to run the dealership in Bangkok’s Thon Buri area, which is also part of Audi’s expansion plan.

All new showrooms and service centres are aimed at serving both new and existing Audi owners. There are nearly 10,000 Audi cars in Thailand.

He expects the company to achieve sales volume this year of 1,200 cars, double the figure sold in 2017.
