New T-Mobile Go5G And Go5G Plus Plans: All The Details

(CTN News) – T-Mobile held an Uncarrier event today to announce new initiatives. They have called out Verizon and AT&T for pushing three-year contracts, are offering customers the option of switching to T-Mobile, and most importantly, have introduced two new data plans called Go5G and Go5G Plus.

Let’s take a closer look at these new Go5G plans for those thinking about switching to T-Mobile.

In the following table, you can see a detailed comparison between Go5G and Go5G Plus plans, along with all the features they include.

From what we can tell, these are very similar to the Magenta and Magenta Max plans you might already be using, except they include a slight price increase and additional data.

There is unlimited talk and text as well as unlimited data included in the package. It is important to note that Go5G provides “premium” 5G data up to 100 GB before potentially being throttled a bit.

You receive unlimited “premium” data with the Go5G Plus plan. A large portion of the increase can be attributed to hotspots and Canada/Mexico usage.

Go5G customers receive 15GB of high-speed data when they use hotspots, as well as 10GB of high-speed data when traveling in Mexico or Canada. With Go5G Plus, hotspot data is increased to 50GB along with 15GB for use in Canada and Mexico.

In Magenta and Magenta Max, hotspot high-speed data was limited to 5GB and 40GB, respectively, and only 5GB in Canada/Mexico.

In addition, T-Mobile continues to offer free services such as Apple TV+ and Netflix, as well as flight streaming sessions and 5GB of international data. That’s about all there is to it.

Pricing for Go5G and Go5G Plus is up by $5 per month on single lines. Therefore, the starting price for Go5G is $75 per month and for Go5G Plus is $90 per month.

In addition, you will have to pay $90, $150, $150, and $185 for Go5G Plus at lines 1, 2, 3, and 4. There has been an increase across the board from $5 to $15 per month. By the way, taxes and fees are included in the price.

If you were hoping for a discount, it comes through the Essentials Savings plan, which has been reduced to $50/mo from $60/mo. The features of the application appear to be the same as before.

Features of the T-Mobile Go5G and Go5G Plus plans

Can you tell me what is happening to Magenta and Magenta Max? According to the press release from T-Mobile, the new Go5G plans will run “alongside” Magenta, as if Magenta are not quite ready to be phased out.

It is unlikely that they will survive much longer, since all of these plans are very similar. Although T-Mobile will claim that this is so they can offer you more choices, they are essentially the same plans with a small data increase.
