(CTN NEWS) – According to Tekken 8, the previous game’s events resulted in the death of a long-time fan favourite character unambiguously.

Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, Ling Xiaoyu, and even Jun Kazama, who has been absent from the main roster for more than ten years, are among the cast members who have returned for this round of the King of Iron Fist Tournament.

Heihachi Mishima Has Been Integral To The Tekken Brand Since The Original Game

Mishima frequently throws his family members off cliffs or other high places, and his son Kazuya Mishima has more than once done the same.

Despite experiencing numerous “deaths” during the course of the franchise, he always returned, cruel as ever. Heihachi was this time tossed into a volcano to put an end to Kazuya and Heihachi’s conflict in Tekken 7.

Heihachi’s death is final, according to Tekken 8 producer Katsuhiro Harada, despite rumours that the game’s original major boss will return and that Heihachi would come back from the dead yet again.

TheGamer asked Harada and his translator, Michael Murray, about Tekken 8’s decision to violate the custom of featuring Heihachi Mishima in the game, and they revealed this.

Heihachi’s limp body was dumped into lava, and Murray rather cheekily said that there was no way he could survive, joking, “I don’t know how he’s not dead, right?”

When the interviewer argued that Heihachi had evaded death numerous times, Harada responded, “He looked pretty dead to me.”

Harada continued by citing details from the franchise’s mythology, such as the fact that he didn’t convert the devil gene, depriving him of Jin or Kazuya’s similar rebirth abilities.

In addition, Harada himself was taken aback by how certain Heihachi’s passing appeared to be to his employees; the development team responded by telling him that they would only carry out his instructions.

Murray relayed how Harada had instructed his staff to make Heihachi’s death appear final and genuine at the conclusion of Tekken 7 after the character had been killed so many times.

The Mishima Zaibatsu commander was reportedly Harada’s favorite character, therefore he was horrified to learn of his demise. The producer even expressed guilt over how eagerly his employees obeyed his suggestion.

Murray made fun of the possibility of an AI Heihachi, but for now, the vicious Tekken bad guy won’t be coming back in this next installment.

The current versions of Tekken 8 are being created on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
