Man Who Claim’s to be a “Super Hero” from a Destroyed Planet Hijacks Passenger Bus

Phummarin, 31, allegedly told police he had to hijack the bus because his alien friends had failed to pick him up

AYUTTHAYA – Police say a Suphan Buri man who claimed to be a “superhero” from a destroyed planet hijacked a passenger bus late on Saturday night and drove it out of the city in the hope he could return to space, leaving a trail of damage along the way.

They said Phummarin Phaensombun’s “mission to leave planet Earth” was put to an end after he rammed the bus into an 18-wheel trailer truck and was arrested in Ayutthaya’s Wang Noi district by police who set up a blockade on Phahon Yothin Road.

Mr Phummarin, 31, told police he had to hijack the bus because his alien friends had failed to pick him up to take him on a space journey away from Earth.

In remarks to police, bus driver Prasit Sukin said Mr Phummarin boarded bus No.34 at Victory Monument on Saturday night and scared the six passengers on board with a “loud and intimidating rant”.

An inspector of the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority who was at the scene said he tried to detain the man but ran away after Mr Phummarin attacked him with a slingshot.

Mr Prasit said he fled his bus after the man groped for something inside his bag, suspecting it was a weapon.

Police said Mr Phumarin drove the bus northbound from Victory Monument, crashing into other vehicles along the way.

Witnesses said the bus smashed through a toll booth on the expressway near Central Lat Phrao shopping mall before heading north to Ayutthaya’s Bang Pa-in district.

Police said Mr Phummarin was forced to end his journey when he crashed the bus into a truck and it was unable to go any further .

Police said there were no casualties. BKK Post
