Police in Thailand have acquired arrest warrants for three fugitive Chinese men in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a Chinese university student whose corpse was discovered in a ditch in Nonthaburi province on Saturday.

On Monday, National Police Chief Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittiprapas announced that all suspects in the case had been named. Warrants had already been authorized by the court, according to Pol Gen Damrongsak.

Jin Can, a 22-year-old Chinese music student at Bangkok Thonburi University, was discovered dead in a ditch at a plantation in Nonthaburi’s Bang Yai neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon.

Her corpse was found in a sack with five stab wounds. Her throat was wrapped in a towel.

Last Tuesday, three Chinese men abducted her from the campus, according to surveillance camera footage. According to Pol Maj Gen Nopasilp Poolsawat, deputy Bangkok police commander, they took her in a red Mazda car to a rented home in a high-priced housing estate in Bang Yai and detained her there.

Detectives discovered that the group then used the WeChat app to demand 500,000 yuan (about 2.5 million baht) in ransom from her father in China. The ransom demand was delivered to the parent along with a photograph of his daughter with her wrists and ankles tied. He then inquired about his daughter’s whereabouts at the institution. He had a feeling it was a joke.

Her father was informed by the university that his daughter was last seen at the university between 5 and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to Pol Gen Damrongsak, the unpaid ransom and a love affair were factors in her death.

“Investigators discovered that the suspects had fled abroad.” Interpol will be requested to issue a red notice, and Chinese authorities will be asked to assist in bringing them to justice. Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn, deputy national police chief, has been assigned to coordinate with the Chinese embassy to expedite the processes,” the police chief said.

He claimed that a large number of Chinese citizens had committed crimes in Thailand. He had given orders to manage the situation. He stated that Thailand and China were cooperating closely to combat crime involving Chinese citizens.

Because Thailand issues visas on arrival, tourists can obtain them at the airport, which is handy for them. However, the national police chief stated that this made it simpler for criminals to enter the country. To encourage tourism while keeping criminals out, appropriate measures had to be put in place.

Police, led by Pol Col Somphon Wongsrisunthorn, deputy chief of Nonthaburi police, searched the suspects’ rented home in Bang Yai district again on Monday, searching for more evidence. The young lady is thought to have been murdered there.

On March 20, a woman entered a contract to rent this house for one month. On the night of March 29, she called the house owner, stating that she needed to return to her country immediately and requesting a refund of some of the money she had paid in advance.

Witnesses reported seeing a red Mazda depart the housing estate around 8.20 p.m. on March 29. It never returned. The car was previously thought to have been used by the gang to transport the abducted woman to the home.
