Three of them were between 18 and 20 years of age, police said

CHIANGRAI TIMES – Chiang Rai Police have arrested a man with 66,000 methamphetamine pills, a couple with another 1,234 yaba pills and four drug suspects with 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine, known as ice.

Police announced the arrests at a press briefing on Thursday.

They said they received a report that smugglers operating on the Myanmar border would deliver the drugs to a client at a market in Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai yesterday.

The alleged drug courier, Pitsanu Pimoldamrongkiat, arrived at the market and mistakenly handed over a bag of 66,000 ya ba pills to a plain-clothes police officer because he forgot the license plate of his customer’s vehicle.
