CHIANGRAI TIMES -Dozens of tributes have been paid to Dylan, who had been in hospital in a coma for a number of weeks in Thailand and was flown back to Ireland by air ambulance earlier this week.

The popular local lad is understood to have suffered a blow to the head in a swimming pool accident in Thailand during a dream holiday to Asia and Australia.

However, it is not clear if this has contributed to Dylan’s death.

The Sugarloaf Crescent native, aged 26, will be fondly remembered by friends who have flooded onto his Facebook page in tribute to the massive Oasis fan.

One friend told WicklowNews.net: “This is shocking news we are desperately upset to have lost Dylan, who was one of the nicest, most genuine and best people I’ve ever met.”

The friend added: “My thoughts are with the Curran family, it’s so sad. It’s desperate.”

Last Friday night a fundraiser night was held at the Eclectic Garden in the Porter House in Bray for Dylan and attracted a huge interest with stars like KT Tunstall and Laura Whitmore donating items to raffles.

While the community continues to send their nice wishes to Dylan’s parents Dave & Elaine & siblings Tom & April, a fundraiser held on Friday night raised a immense 27,000 Pounds (with money still coming in) to help cover the family’s mounting expenses.

After much interest in this brilliant piece of memorabilia, it fetched 2,100Pounds  from an anonymous phone bidder by former Bray Wanderers player Robbie Doyle.

Hundreds of people attended the event in the Eclectic Garden & the great atmosphere & outpouring of support saw the fundraising tally skyrocket.

of the largest draws on the night was a jersey donated to the auction by soccer legend Paul McGrath which was signed by Ireland’s 1994 World Cup Team.

A well-supported raffle was also held on the night.

The auction of single guys & girls provided plenty of a laugh & high demand for both Michelle Curley & Dan Smith kept the bidders on their toes, with both finally going for over 400 Pounds  each.

The whole fundraiser was a immense success & credit must go to Dylan’s friends for organizing such a great event, to Emma Smith.
