Russian Man Found Hanging From Tree in Phuket
PHUKET – Police Officials in Phuket have found Russian National Vladimir Slowbodenyuk hanging dead from a tree around the Nai
Vladimir SlobodenyukHarn lagoon area, police believed he climbed the tree and then jumped.
Police from Chalong station in Muang district worked with rescuers to cut the man’s body down from a tree near a viewpoint at Promthep Cape. His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City for autopsy.
Officers said they found a hospital patient card and a photograph of him taken with a woman in his pocket
Police Investigators later verified the dead man’s identity with his uncle, who said his nephew had been missing for two days.
Investigators said Slowbodenyuk graduated in engineering in Russia and first travelled to Thailand two years ago, staying with his uncle in tambon Rawai.
He could not find a job, developed stress and isolated himself from others. His mother brought him back to Russia to get treatment for depression but his condition did not improve. She had hoped that a return to Phuket would help him. – By Sert Tongdee
According to his uncle, the man had earlier attempted to kill himself by cutting his wrists.
