As this year’s edition of Thai League 1 is heading to the finish line, the season has just started when it comes to football video games.
As per tradition, FIFA by EA Sports and Pro Evolution Soccer by Konami are the only football simulations that are available to players. But if you are a Thai football fan, there is only one choice.
eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 features exclusive license for Thai League 1, meaning that all the teams, clubs, authentic jerseys, and players are in the game.
That means you can play as lowly Chiang Mai or fight for another title as Buriram United.
It is also noteworthy that Thai top division is the league form Southeast Asian in the game, while Malaysian champions JDT are the only other ASEAN club.
As you fight for the championship and the cup, you will also try to find your place in AFC Champions League. You can also play as Thailand and try to win the Asian Cup or World Cup, as the team is licensed, which is not the case with many other sides.
FIFA 20 Boasts Over 30 Leagues
Compare that to FIFA 20, which boast over 30 leagues around the world, but is not taking much care about the Asian region. The addition of Chinese Super League was a smart move, but there are no ASEAN leagues or teams in the game.
That is a shame because FIFA 20 has the exclusive license for Bundesliga, Premier League, La Liga, and many other national competitions that every football fanatic loves to watch.
EA Sports knows that game will sell well in Southeast Asia anyway, so maybe that’s the reason why they are not trying harder.
That leaves the question – what game should you get this year? If Thai football is your priority, then there is only one choice. PES 2020 will let you take part in your favorite league, and if you put a bit of effort, you’ll find patches and option files for PS4 and PC versions of the game.
If you love competing online, you’ll need FIFA 20
They will solve the licensing problems, so you’ll be able to play as Chelsea, Manchester City and other teams with authentic names and kits. Of course, FIFA 20 still offers by far better presentation, more clubs and leagues and an online mode that is at least two steps ahead of PES 2020.
If you love competing online, you’ll need FIFA 20. So which one do you choose, as they are both rated as best teen games? If you can afford the money and time, grab them both.
Usually, both games can be bought on huge discounts by the end of the years, but if you can’t wait, choose one and buy the another of these best games when the price gets cut.
There is no real winner this year, but we predict that the next editions will be far more exciting as they’ll be released for the next generation of consoles.
