Starting Jan 9th Phu Chi Fa Forest Park to Hold Blossoming Pink Thai Sakura Festival
CHIANG RAI – Wiang Kaen District authorites are organizing a blooming Sakura festival titled “Phu Chi Fa and Dazzling Blossoming Pink Thai Sakura” at its Phu Chi Fa Forest Park.
Tourists are continuously visiting the Watershed Management Unit of Ngao in Wiang Kaen district to get a glimpse of the beautiful Wild Himalayan cherry, or Thai sakura, that has now begun to bloom.
The area is boasted to be the largest site of these cherry trees in Thailand, over tens of thousands of them. As a method to boost tourism in Wiang Kaen, the district chief joins hands with the public and private sectors to hold a ‘Blooming Sakura’ festival.
The”Phu Chi Fa and Dazzling Blossoming Pink Thai Sakura” event will be held on hillside Phu Chi Fa in the compound of the Watershed Management Unit of Ngao. The festival will take place from January 9th onward.
Activities will include cultural shows particularly tribal performances. The highlight of the event will be a spectacular view of the sakura in full bloom on the mountain top where visitors can experience free of charge.
