Four Taiwanese Nationals Nabbed in Bangkok for Credit Card Skimming

BANGKOK – Four Taiwanese nationals were arrested in Bangkok Sunday for using counterfeit bank cards, Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hukpan, chief of the Tourist Police Divison, reported. The four were arrested by Thai police after two of them were seen acting suspiciously on a street in the Thai capital.
Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hukpan said a total of 29 counterfeit cards and a large amount of cash were found on the Lee Jui Seng, 30, and Chiew Chin Bin, 29, while in the place they rented, two other people, along with equipment used to counterfeit bank cards, were found.
Mr. Liew Cheng Siao, 34, and Liew Kun Yen, 44 tried to bribe the police with 300,000 baht (US$8,558.29), but the bribe was rejected and they were arrested.
An initial investigation showed that the four entered Thailand in May on tourist visas.
According to Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hukpan, if they are found guilty of counterfeiting bank cards and bribery, they could face a minimum prison term of five years and a fine of 100,000 baht.
