Falling Tree Kills Mother and Daughter in Chiang Rai
CHIANG RAI – A Mother and Daughter have been killed in Chiang Rai when heavy rain at Doi Wawee in Mae Suai district up rooted a tree, which then toppled onto them as they were walking to a plantation.

The water level has risen in several rivers, including the Sai River at the Thai-Myanmar border. The Sai River at Baan Sailomjoy in Mae Sai district reached a critical level of 2.50 metres and its murky waters flowed swiftly.
It has overflowed its banks, flooding the road under the Thai-Myanmar Friendship bridge.
The flood level is about one metre deep and the road is impassable. About 20 shops on both sides of the river, Thailand’s Mae Sai district and Myanmar’s Thachilek, are under water.
Meanwhile, in Phaya Mengrai district, about 200 acres of paddy fields have been flooded and rivers are rising. – MCOT
