Is Mobile Gaming for You?

Gaming is an incredibly large and lucrative industry. There’s a good chance that you’ve at least tried to play a game before, and if you do enjoy them, you might find yourself exploring the wide range of what PC and console games offer.

However, you might not have yet explored what mobile gaming has to give. Despite it once only being able to offer more rudimentary and basic titles, that has long since changed, and it’s now host to a wide and varied pool of games from multiple genres.

Trying it out is worth your time, as if it’s for you, you have a new way to occupy your time wherever you go, filling out long waits and arduous journeys.

Start with a Classic

If you enjoy something like Fortnite, you’ll be pleased to hear that this has already made its way over to smartphones. More than that, you might not notice much difference at all due to the ability to cross play with those who are also playing the game on other consoles.

Alternatively, if you’re more into single-player games, iconic roleplaying games like Knights of the Old Republic and Baldur’s Gate II are here – but as are more modern titles like the acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin 2. Getting to grips with how games you’re familiar with play on this new platform might have you understanding what keeps people coming back to it, allowing you to see the benefits and convenience that smartphone gaming can offer.

Something Entirely New

However, once you’re acquainted with the smartphone gaming landscape, there’s no reason not to try something new. After all, why stick to the same games forever?

At first you might just try what’s available on the app store, maybe taking this opportunity to experience games that you’ve heard about before but never played for yourself. After that, you might be in a better position to experiment and see what speaks to you personally.

You’ll likely encounter many free-to-play titles and the practices that come with that, but it’s also a chance to see how smartphones have embraced online slot games, with multiple varieties that can appeal to your taste in films, music or sports to provide a personalized experience.

Exclusive Titles, Familiar Franchises

There are other exclusive titles that you might be interested in, however. Long running staples like Call of Duty and Assassin’s Creed are getting their own mobile exclusive titles. While this once might have resulted in quite a basic game, looking at Assassin’s Creed Jade, many would be forgiven for mistaking it for a console title itself. Mobile hardware has come a long way, and that means that these more high-budget titles could ultimately become a lot more common, meaning that you risk missing out by excluding the platform entirely.

Not all of these are going to be favorites, Diablo Immortal is famous primarily for the controversy surrounding it, but that can still be helpful to indicate which titles you might be interested in and which others could be best avoided.
