Thai Junta to Hold Seminar of Lessons Learned from Tham Luang Cave Rescue

CHIANG RAI – The National Legislative Assembly’s subcommittee has announced it will hold a seminar to discuss lessons learnt from the international operation to rescue 12 young footballers and their coach at Tham luang Cave in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai is set to take place later this month.

The National Legislative Assembly’s subcommittee on space, which is under the Committee on Science, Technology, Information and Mass Communication, will hold the seminar on November 19 at the Second Building of the Parliament.

The seminar is scheduled to be attended by the Governor of Phayao, who was then the Governor of Chiang Rai and in charge of the rescue operations, the Governor of Bangkok and over 180 representatives from various armed forces involved in the rescue and the private sector, many academic institutions as well as various ministries.

The discussion will focus on all lessons learnt in the weeks-long operation and to use them in the promotion of public awareness of the importance of the development of Thailand’s scientific and technological capabilities as well as innovation, in order to enable the country to catch up with the fast-changing global environment and to prepare the country for future crises and disasters.
