Chiang Rai Police on a Manhunt After Hill Tribesman Shoots and Kills Ex-Wife and Mother-in-Law
CHIANG RAI – Chiang Rai Police are on a manhunt after a hill-tribesman allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife and mother-in-law in a fit of rage on Wednesday.
Police said the shooting occurred at the house of Na-ua Jajoo, 38, in Ban Muang Noi village in Tambon Mae Jedi Mai in Chiang Rai’s Wiang Pa Pao district.
Villagers told The Nation that the unnamed assailant had returned home after a 10-year absence to find his ex-wife had remarried, allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife and her mother on Wednesday.
On Wednesday night he suddenly appeared out of nowhere, only to find that she was married to another man six years ago and had a child.
Upon hearing of this the ex-husband became jealous and quarreled with new husband and his ex-mother-in-law Ada Haeni, 63, before shooting her in the back with a shot gun.
The ex-wife Na-ua Jajoo, 38, fled into the house and her ex-husband followed, shooting her dead in the bathroom.
The new husband said the man would have shot him too but he ran out of ammunition and fled the village into the mountainous jungle.
Police have launched a manhunt for the ex-husband.
