Tips for Traveling to Morocco

As is logical, before travling to Morocco as to any other destination, certain important aspects must be taken into account: The date to do it, where to get to and from the country, the method of transportation, the accommodation…

an endless number of things that will make your trip really special and a genuine experience. Many people make this 3 days desert Tour from Marrakech

What is the best date to go to Morocco?

One of the main things that we must take into account is the date to make the trip. We have to know that Morocco offers a very favorable climate throughout the year, but we cannot forget that it is a vast country and that it has all kinds of climates in its interior, from the aridest desert to the cold mountains of the Atlas, passing due to the large stretches of coastline that this country has, each with its own climate and temperatures.

The best months to travel are between March and the beginning of June and the months of September and October, although it is possible to travel on any date since Morocco does not have such extreme weather that prevents you from going at any other time.

It is also interesting that we review the date on which Ramadan will be celebrated this year, and this date changes every year. I say taking Ramadan into account because during this holiday the country undergoes a great transformation. It is up to each one to assess whether they want to live the experience of knowing Morocco during Ramadan or outside of it.

The best way to get to Morocco?

This point will depend on many factors, first of all, take into account which places you want to visit in Morocco and then assess from which point you intend to leave.

If you are in the Andalusia area in southern Spain, it may be interesting to take a ferry from Algeciras to Tangier, to start your tour from there or you can also consider the option of taking a flight from Seville and Malaga to Fes or Marrakech.

Where to stay in Morocco?

Morocco is a country very open to tourism. In practically all cities you will find a multitude of options to sleep in Morocco and for all kinds of pockets. We recommend the experience of sleeping in a Riad.

If you still do not know what a Riad is, we encourage you to visit this article where we explain it to you in great detail. You can also check here and book your hotel or riad in Morocco at the best price, there are also people who spend a night in the desert doing this 3 days desert Tour from Marrakech

Some tips after arrival in Morocco

When you leave the airport, the easiest and most comfortable way to get to the city center is by taxi or by private transfer or you can use a car hire service in Morocco.

In most Moroccan airports, there is a fixed price for each route and it is normally represented on a sign at the taxi rank, so make sure before starting the trip that the driver will comply with the advertised rate.  If the price is not displayed, ask the driver before setting off.

You have to take into account that if your accommodation is located inside the medina, these are largely pedestrianized, so the taxi may not be able to access it and must drop you off at the closest place that can do so.

How do I get around Morocco?

If you plan to travel on your own and want to do it through several cities, the train may be one of the best options since it is comfortable and cheap. The railway network covers the route between large cities such as Tangier, Fes, Casablanca, Rabat, and Marrakech.  Morocco already has a high-speed train that connects several cities in the country.

Another possibility, although it is the most expensive, is that you negotiate these transfers with a taxi.  The vehicles that are in charge of this type of interurban displacement are known in Morocco as Grand taxis. For trips within the cities, the cheapest and fastest are the Petit taxis.
