Temperatures Forecasted to Drop 3-7 °C in Northern Thailand
The Meteorological Department has forecasted temperatures in Northern Thailand are forecast to drop by 3-7 °C between Nov 8-14. The cooler weather will come after thundershowers with strong winds from Southern China.
A strong high-pressure front has prevailed over southern China and is expected to extend over Vietnam, upper Laos, and Northern Thailand.
As a result, thundershowers with strong winds are forecast for the northern areas of Thailand. Temperatures will then decrease by 3-7 °C in the North and Northeast and 3-5 °C in the Central plains including, Bangkok and its vicinity, and Thailand’s Eastern region.
Meanwhile, the stronger thundershowers and winds across the Gulf of Thailand and the South will bring more rain, with heavy rain in the South of Thailand.
Stronger winds are forecast with 2-3 meter-high waves in the Gulf of Thailand and 1-2 meter-high waves in the Andaman Sea.
People in the South of Thailand are also advised to beware of possible flash floods and mountain overflows. Residents along the Gulf of Thailand shorelines have been warned of possible inshore surges. All vessels should proceed with caution and small boats in the Gulf should remain ashore.
