Thailand’s Interior Minister Orders Relevant Agencies to be Prepared for this Years Monsoon Season
CHIANG RAI – The Interior Minister, Gen. Anupong Paojinda, said he has instructed all provincial disaster prevention and mitigation offices to be prepared for possible flooding and landslides during this years rainy, monsoon season .
Gen. Anupong has given the order after the Meteorological Department reported that this year’s rainy season will begin later this month and end in mid-October.
The provincial disaster and mitigation offices will optimize water drainage in community areas and main roads which are prone to flooding.
Local administrative organizations and related agencies have been assigned to inspect their reservoirs and immediately repair them if damage is found.
