Grand Theft Auto VI Footage Is Leaked, Hacker Threatens More

(CTN News) _ Rockstar Games’ secretive next Grand Theft Auto game was revealed in 90 videos leaked online Sunday morning.

In addition to confirming reported game details, the footage appeared to be part of a leaker’s plan to extract money from Rockstar.

• Grand Theft  fans have been eager for information following an unusually long gap since its last installment, 2013’s Grand Theft V, in one of the biggest gaming franchises.

In the early hours of Sunday, Teapotuberhacker posted a link to the leaked footage on the GTA Forums. He said they grabbed it via Rockstar’s Slack.

• A few clips appear to be from 2021 development builds, but most are undated.
• Figures run, slide, and take cover in grayed-out rooms in animation tests.
• Some feature in-progress gameplay scenes overlaid with text that explains what the program running the game is doing.
• A woman named Lucia and a man named Jason are shown standing in a crowded fast food restaurant in the test build.
• There are also clips showing the driver’s seat reclining and shifting in a car, showcasing Rockstar’s attention to detail.

Some clips have been removed from YouTube by Take-Two Interactive, citing copyright claims. Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed the leak.

• According to Bloomberg, the leak is real. Axios confirmed that, too.

“I’m looking to negotiate a deal,” the apparent leaker wrote on the unofficial GTA Forums on Sunday morning.

• A few hours earlier, they posted 90 videos from the unreleased next Grand Theft and said they had access to the source code for GTA VI and its predecessor.
• “I may leak more data soon,” they wrote.
• Uber was also hacked by them.
