After becoming the 47th president of the United States, President-elect Donald Trump will return to the White House on Monday.

Musical performances, a celebratory parade, and several formal banquets are all part of the formal swearing-in ceremony on inauguration day.

Vice-President-elect JD Vance will also take the oath of office, accompanying Donald Trump on stage to officially commence their new administration.

The inauguration is the formal ceremony that signifies the conclusion of one president’s tenure in office and the commencement of their successor’s administration.

It is the most prominent aspect of the power transition between government leaders in Washington, DC.

The president-elect’s oath of office is a vital part of the ceremony. It states, “I pledge to faithfully fulfill the duties of the President of the United States and, to the best of my ability, uphold, safeguard, and defend the U.S. Constitution.”

Despite his victory in the November election, Donald Trump will be recognized as the 47th president upon uttering those words. Between 2017 and 2021, he was the 45th president.

Before officially taking on the role of vice president, Vance will take an oath of office.

The second day of Trump’s inauguration will commence with a service at St. John’s Church, Lafayette Square, a historic church in Washington, DC. This will be followed by tea at the White House.

How to Watch Donald Trump’s Inauguration: Streaming and Coverage Options

The primary event stage on the West Lawn of the US Capitol building will commence with musical performances and opening remarks at 09:30 EST (14:30 GMT).

This will be followed by the inaugural address, during which the president will outline his objectives for the subsequent four years and the swearing-in of Trump and Vance.

Upon entering the President’s Room near the Senate chamber, Donald Trump will begin signing important documents.

The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies will host a luncheon for him. Subsequently, he will attend.

This is followed by a parade that passes from the Capitol building down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House.

Later this evening, Trump is set to participate in three inaugural ceremonies in the city: the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball, the Liberty Inaugural Ball, and the Starlight Ball.

He is anticipated to deliver a speech at each of the three events.

Carrie Underwood, a country vocalist and former American Idol winner, is scheduled to perform America the Beautiful at the ceremony.

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood stated in an official statement. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

Donald Trump’s longtime friend, collaborator, country vocalist Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio will also perform at the inauguration ceremony.

The Village People, an American disco group, will perform at Trump’s victory rally on Sunday and at one of the inaugural ceremonies on Monday.

The group’s anthems, YMCA and Macho Man, were frequently played at Donald Trump’s rallies during the campaign.

In a Facebook post, the band stated, “We are aware that this may not be to the liking of some of you; however, we are of the opinion that music should be performed without regard for politics.”

“Our song YMCA is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost.”

Donald Trump’s rally and evening events on Sunday will feature a larger lineup of performers. Notable country artists such as Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus, Jason Aldean, and Rascal Flatts will perform alongside Gavin DeGraw, who is also scheduled to perform.

The inauguration is generally in high demand, and tickets are highly sought after.

Members of Congress are allocated specific tickets to the ceremony, which they may disseminate to their constituents.

Although these permits are free, obtaining them is frequently difficult. Americans may contact their congressperson directly to obtain tickets.

If you can’t attend in person, there are many ways to watch the event remotely.

The inauguration will be broadcast live by the White House. The BBC will provide continuous coverage of the inauguration on our news channel.

According to local and federal officials, approximately 200,000 individuals, including Donald Trump supporters and protesters, are anticipated to attend in Washington, D.C.

In addition to visitors of the incoming administration, numerous US senators and House members will be in attendance.

The outgoing president and vice president are the next most significant attendees, following Trump, Vance, and their families.

This implies that President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, defeated by Trump in the November election, will accompany their spouses, Jill Biden and Doug Emhoff.

According to her office, Michelle Obama, the former first lady, will miss this year’s inauguration. Former presidents and first ladies are often included among the guests.

Mrs Obama was absent from former President Jimmy Carter’s memorial service last week, opting to remain in Hawaii. She has attended each inauguration since her husband’s in 2009, including Donald Trump’s inaugural ceremony in 2017.

George and Laura Bush, in addition to Barack Obama, are anticipated to attend.
