Chiang Rai Local Caught By Mai Sai Police with 54 Grams of Heroin
CHIANG RAI – Police in Mae Sai have arrested Artit Raireangphanwana a local resident around 6pm last night (January 9) on drugs charges, after he was caught with 54 grammes of heroin powder hidden in his socks, destined to be sold in Phuket.
Police said ,28-year-old Artit Raireangphanwana was on his way from Chiang Rai to Bangkok when the bus he was travelling on was stopped by police at Mae Sai.
Police stated that Mr. Raireangphanwana was acting suspiciously and when police searched his person they found two bags of heroin powder stuffed in his socks. Mr.Raireangphanwana said he was given the drugs at Mae Sai, and planned on delivering them to a person in Phuket. He was arrested and taken to Mea Jan police station for processing. – Phuket Gazette
