Later This Year, Ubisoft Games Will Finally Be Available On Steam

(CTN News) – The developer has announced that four more Ubisoft games will join Steam in the near future.

As of 11th May, 8th June, 15th June, and 22nd June, Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, Rainbow Six Extraction, and Monopoly Madness will be available for purchase on the Steam store for the first time, which marks the first time that these titles will be available for purchase on Steam.

With the exception of 2019, Ubisoft refused to release its game on Steam, but instead opted for a dual launch on Ubisoft Connect and Epic Games Store – where Epic was, perhaps not coincidentally, offering a 12 percent revenue cut to publishers and developers compared to Valve’s 30 percent.

Due to the fact that all of these games were released at different times, there doesn’t seem to be any specific period of exclusivity that’s reached its end, and Ubisoft has yet to respond to Ubisoft’s comment confirming why these games are now being released on Steam.

As a result of this, it should come as good news to the faithful fans who were holding out in the hope that these titles would eventually find their way onto Steam.

It was reported back in November that Ubisoft shifted its preference on preferred storefronts after listings appeared to indicate that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla could be found on Steam, and the move was confirmed by Ubisoft itself in December, when Valhalla, Anno 1800, and Roller Champions all were announced to be available for Steam.

Despite its limited map and objective offerings, and my concerns about communication, Extraction delivers a surprisingly gratifying, and sometimes unsettling experience that, despite my worries about communication, kept my attention for much longer than I had ever anticipated in my Rainbow Six Extraction review of last year.

Despite the fact that it is not the most innovative shooter, Rainbow Six: Siege is still a fine addition to the Rainbow Six collection.”
